3 Top Networking Communities for Digital Currency Investors

Digital currency investment

Being a digital currency investor might appear daunting. Fortunately, there are many different resources you can leverage, including networking communities.

These groups will likely provide a great environment for you to meet like-minded individuals. While much of the digital currency world takes place behind a computer screen, nothing can replace the benefit of meeting with people interested in digital currency in person.

People benefit from the same network effects that digital currencies do, noted Roger Darin, community manager of Bitcoin Meetup Switzerland.

“Getting to know people in this space is very valuable, and ultimately what allows people to grow from a novice to an expert,” he stated.

In addition, these communities will probably offer some great opportunities to learn more about both digital currencies and the blockchain.

To make the most of these resources, it helps to know which groups are the biggest and the best.

Below, the top three digital currency networking communities – as ranked by their number of members – are reviewed.

By participating in these communities, you could develop a far greater understanding of topics that interest you or branch out into new areas of knowledge.

BitcoinNYC

BitcoinNYC, which describes itself as “New York’s Bitcoin professional network” and has more than 7,000 members, is the largest of them all.

Its Meetup page contains a simple message:

“Whether you are a beginner looking to learn what all the fuss is about, or a die-hard Bitcoiner pursuing a business in bitcoins, BitcoinNYC is a great way to meet like-minded people and learn from the best out there.”

This organization has held more than 100 events, including a UASF (user-activated hard fork) roof party and a discussion involving blockchain data storage.

Ethereum London

Ethereum London, which has described itself as “the first and now the largest Ethereum meetup in the world,” had more than 6,000 members.

This particular meetup, which was founded in 2014, has laid down some simple ground rules, stating that its meetups consist of “2 or 3 presentations from respected speakers,” all of whom are selected in a rather careful manner.

Ethereum London has held more than 50 events, which have ranged from straightforward social gatherings to a speech that Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin gave on “Blockchain and Ethereum Security on the Higher Level.”

NYC Ethereum

NYC Ethereum, the third-largest digital currency meetup, has more than 5,500 members.

Focused on Ethereum technology and the blockchain, this group has held more than 50 meetups, with topics ranging from Virtue Poker to discussions involving the digital currency markets.
